Alan Jones
Alan Jones is a professional music educator with a lifelong passion for teaching, performance, and musical excellence. He currently serves as the Head Band Director at Horn Lake Middle School and has previously taught at McEwen High School, Bolivar Middle School, and Lexington High School in Tennessee. His experience across multiple grade levels has shaped a student-centered approach that emphasizes strong fundamentals, musical literacy, and confident performance.
Alan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the University of Tennessee at Martin and a Master’s degree in Music Technology from Southern Utah University. This blend of traditional pedagogy and modern technology allows him to provide well-rounded instruction that connects technique, musicianship, and practical application.
As a performer, Alan has worked in both live and studio settings as a freelance musician. He has appeared internationally with the UTM Saxophone Quartet in New Zealand. As a freshman, Alan won UTM’s Concerto Competition and performed as a soloist with the Wind Ensemble. He currently performs with Bluff City Winds.
Alan resides in Cordova with his wife, Cecelia. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with friends, playing video games, playing guitar, and reading.
