Tyler Dailey
Tyler Dailey is a senior percussionist studying Music Education under Dr. Bill Shaltis at the University of Memphis. He has marched with the Mighty Sound of the South drumline for the past three years, completing his final season as a Drum Major. In addition to his work on the field, Tyler has performed on stage with the University of Memphis Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble. Attendees of Memphis basketball games may even recognize him from appearances in the team’s intro video.
Tyler is currently a Resident Candidate completing his student-teaching hours as he finishes his Bachelor of Arts in Music Education. After graduating, he hopes to work as a percussion technician with marching and concert bands across the country, helping the next generation of musicians discover their passion for music.
Outside of class, Tyler volunteers at the Summer at the Scheidt Music Camp, occasionally assists with the Memphis Youth Symphony, and can most often be found practicing on a drum pad. He looks forward to working with and inspiring new students.
