Drum Set Camp

This intensive camp may focus on one or more of the following:

• Proper grip technique
• Working knowledge of four main stroke types
• Quarter note bass drum systems/grooves
• Eighth note bass drum systems/grooves
• Coordination between feet and hands
• Drum set fills
• Applying sixteenth notes in grooves and fills
• Applying triplets in grooves and fills
• Applying rudiments in grooves and fills
• Advancing bass drum techniques
• World styles on drum set (bossa nova, cha-cha, soca, etc.)
• Learning the importance of warm-up techniques and practice habits
• Materials subject to change based on performance of the group

Skill details: Drum set players with at least 1 year of lesson experience.

Materials included: Drum sets are available, but in limited quantity. Students may bring their personal kits, which will be securely stored at our location during the week of camp.

Requirements: Please bring at least one pair of drumsticks, a practice pad, and hearing protection. These items will be available for purchase in our store if needed. Students should bring lunch, snacks, and drinks daily. A water cooler will be available for use.
